As a mother of 4 I normally run around wearing yoga pants, a blue jean jacket thrown over some old t-shirt, and flip flops. Yes, even in the fall and winter months I wear my flip flops. While these shoes make it simple and easy for me to get out of the house quickly they do not provide much protection for my feet. My toes and heels tend to be dry and cracked at all times due to me exposing my feet to all weather conditions with no protection. Well, for a woman who does want to look cute and beautiful those times when I am not in yoga pants dry and cracked feet are not going to cut it.
I have been trying out multiple products that I can get over the counter for softening calloused or rough feet. When I got the Gold Bond Ultimate Softening Foot Cream I had high hopes. The little squeeze bottle says that it is not greasy, penetrates the skin quickly, doesn’t have a strong scent, and includes shea butter as an ingredient. Having never used shea butter or this product I decided to give it a shot. See if it could keep my feet looking nice instead of all dry and cracked while I continue my daily use of flip flops.
Every night for the past 2 months I have used the Gold Bond Ultimate Softening Foot Cream and I am not that impressed. However, I really am looking for a miracle. The lotion I need has to not only fix the dry skin I currently have but also protect me from getting anymore while I walk around in sandals everyday.
The product states that it is non-greasy, which isn’t entirely true. I put this lotion on at night, go to sleep, wake up 8 hours later, slip into my flip flops to use the restroom, and I can still feel a small greasy coating on the bottom of my feet. Makes my shoes slippery when walking. When I first started noticing this I was worried that since I wasn’t putting the lotion on and then wearing socks to bed I would be staining my sheets but that is not the case.
I can say that the Gold Bond Ultimate Softening Foot Cream does penetrate quickly but leaves that sort of greasy lotion feeling on the bottoms of my feet.
My heals and toes are still displaying dry skin even after 2 months of use and an entire 4 ounce (113 gram) squeeze bottle of this stuff.
Buy Gold Bond Ultimate Softening Foot Cream if you have normal dry areas on your feet, not excessive like mine. Other leading lotions do the same thing this one does but most smell better and do not leave a greasy coating.
