In today’s video, let’s talk about choosing what is right for your homestead. Being self-sufficient on the farm or homestead is one thing that makes us homesteaders. Living off the land, foraging, husbandry, cutting our own wood for heat and cooking, gardening, canning, keeping bees preserving, and all the other fun things is what us homesteaders get to do.

You don’t have to do it all. Sure homesteading is farming, gardening, canning, preserving, composting, firewood, animals, and maybe even keeping bees. But you don’t have to do everything that goes along with homesteading. Are you allergic to cats? Then you probably won’t be wanting a barn cat. Don’t want to have to cull your own chickens for meat? Then just raise them for eggs. Do what works for you.

Try different things. Take a few years doing different homesteading activities and determine what is right for your homestead. What do you like to do? What fits into your life? What benefits your family, your budget, and your land?

Do what works!
